The start of our story:
Cambourne Comets was founded in July 2012 by a dedicated group of parents and coaches, united in their belief that all gymnasts should have the opportunity to experience and engage in the sport of trampolining within a safe and welcoming environment. This founding principle remains at the heart of the club’s ethos today.
Who are we?
Cambourne Comets is a recreational and competitive Trampoline and DMT club based at Cambourne Fitness and Sports Centre in Cambridgeshire. We welcome gymnasts of all ages and abilities, from beginners through to national-level competitors, within our structured training sessions.
The club is registered with British Gymnastics, through whom all coaches and committee members are appropriately trained. We are committed to providing positive, high-quality trampolining opportunities for individuals across Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas.
How do we operate?
Cambourne Comets is supported by a small, dedicated committee of volunteers who work closely with our coaching team, including coaches qualified up to UKCC Level 3. We value open communication, shared responsibility, and a positive club culture, and are fully committed to the safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing of all children and young people who train with us.
Safeguarding:
Cambourne Comets is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all children and young people, and we ask that everyone involved in the club shares this commitment.
To help keep our members safe, the Club follows the British Gymnastics Health & Safety for Clubs & Affiliated Organisations policy and their Safeguarding policy, which bring together previous safeguarding guidance for children and adults at risk. Copies of these policies are available on the Club Policies page.
Our Club Welfare Officers are available as a first point of contact for any concerns about child welfare, poor practice within the club, or potential safeguarding issues.
Concerns can be raised confidentially by emailing welfarecambournecomets@gmail.com.
What days do we train?
Training sessions are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, as well as Saturday mornings.
We also offer Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
